Service Calls
Something not working?Let’s go fix it.
We take service calls for tripping breakers, dead outlets, flickering lights, GFCI issues, and the weird stuff. Time-and-materials, quoted on the phone — no diagnostic upcharge games, no “trip fee + service fee + assessment fee” stack.
Fair pricing. Clear invoices.
- ✓ Fair pricing for the work — we don’t pad bills.
- ✓ Pricing matched to the actual work — not a one-size template.
- ✓ Materials and labor itemized on every invoice.
- ✓ Happy to talk through scope and pricing — give us a call or send a note.
The stuff you actually call about.
Most service calls fall into one of these buckets. If yours doesn’t — call anyway. We’ve seen it.
Breaker keeps tripping
Same breaker flips every time you run the dryer + microwave, or it pops randomly with nothing obvious running. Could be load, could be a short, could be a tired breaker.
Most commonDead outlet or half a room
One outlet stopped working. Or half a room is dead while the rest is fine. Usually a tripped GFCI, loose connection, or broken outlet — straightforward to find.
Quick fix typicalFlickering or dimming lights
Lights flicker when the AC or fridge kicks on. Whole rooms dim under load. Usually a neutral issue, a loose connection in the panel, or undersized service.
Don’t ignoreSmoke detector chirping
Beeping every 30 seconds, won’t quit even after a battery change. Could be wired-in detector failing, or a battery-backup expired. We’ll fix it and bring it to code.
Most weeksGFCI / AFCI keeps tripping
Bathroom, kitchen, or garage outlet keeps tripping. Or that arc-fault breaker in the bedroom won’t stay on. Could be real (good), could be nuisance (also fixable).
CommonAdding outlets, fans, lights
New ceiling fan, outdoor outlet, basement lights, under-cabinet lighting, bathroom exhaust fan. Quick to scope, quick to install.
Drop-in installPanel inspection or relabel
Pre-listing inspection coming up, or you bought a house and the panel is a mess of unlabeled breakers. We’ll test every circuit and write a clean directory.
Tested + labeledCode corrections
Failed an inspection on a remodel? Bought a place with cloth wiring, knob-and-tube, or scary DIY work? We’ll fix it to code so it passes.
Scoped per jobBurning smell at the panel
Any smell of hot plastic, scorch marks, warm-to-the-touch panel — this is a real hazard. Shut off the affected breaker and call us. Tell us it’s urgent.

No mystery math.
Clear, fair pricing in plain English — here’s how it works.
- Itemized invoices — materials and labor spelled out in plain language.
- Right-sized for the job — small repairs and bigger projects are scoped differently.
- Happy to discuss — reach out and we’ll talk through the scope up front.
- Straight billing — what’s on the invoice is what we actually did.
Quick fix
Many calls are a simple diagnose-and-fix — we find the problem, repair it, and confirm it’s working.
Standard service call
Some need more troubleshooting to track down the fault, make the repair, and re-test the circuit.
Bigger than expected
Sometimes a service call turns up bigger work. If it does, we scope it with you first — you decide before we keep going.
From call to fixed,
here’s how it goes.
Service work is real work, done right — here’s how a typical call goes once we’re on site.
Call or reach out
Describe what’s not working. We’ll triage on the phone, talk through pricing, and get you on the schedule.
We confirm the visit
Once you’re booked, we’ll confirm the day and keep you posted on timing. You’ll know when to expect us.
Diagnose + walk you through it
We find the problem, show you what’s going on, and walk you through what it’ll take to fix.
Fix it, clean up, invoice
Repair it on the spot if we can. Itemized invoice in your inbox. Pay by cash, check, ACH, or credit card — whatever’s easiest.
Something burning? Don’t wait.
Burning smell, scorched outlet, warm-to-the-touch panel, sparks at the breaker — that’s a real hazard. Shut off the affected breaker, and if it’s coming from outside the house, call your utility. Then call us and tell us it’s urgent.
Service call FAQ.
Don’t see your question? Call 715-441-5440 — we’ll answer it on the phone.
It depends on what’s already on the schedule — give us a call and we’ll tell you straight where we’re at and when we can realistically get to you. If it’s a safety hazard like a burning smell, say so when you call and we’ll factor that in.
We price every job around the actual work — labor, materials, and any other costs that come up — and itemize everything on the invoice so it’s clear. Reach out and we’ll talk through what your job will involve.
Cash, check, ACH, and credit/debit all work. The invoice comes by email after the work is done; you can pay right from the link.
For small repairs we don’t quote blind — diagnosing a problem over the phone usually leads to a bad guess. For larger scoped work (new circuits, panel work, EV chargers, generators), give us a call and we’ll talk through the best way to get you a real number.
We’re not a 24/7 dispatch, but real emergencies happen — give us a call and we’ll figure out the right next step. If you’re dealing with an active hazard, shut off the affected breaker first, and call your utility if the issue is coming from outside the house.
Polk County and St. Croix County in Wisconsin, with regular trips to Hudson, River Falls, New Richmond, and Baldwin. Outside that — call us and we’ll talk it through.
Yes. If your problem turns out to be something quick you can handle (like a tripped GFCI button that just needs to be reset), we’ll tell you straight up. We’re not trying to manufacture service calls.
